SECOND NOMINATION CALL & NOTICE OF ELECTIONS FOR NEU/RVP & RVP ALTERNATE POSITIONS: 

Pursuant to NEU By-Law 12 Section 4, the Regional Vice-Presidents and Alternate Regional Vice-Presidents shall be elected by the members in good standing of their respective Region by a secret ballot held within one hundred and twenty (120) days prior to the opening of Convention.  

There are still two (2) RVP positions to be filled in:

1. Baffin South – Ottawa, Sanikiluaq, Kimmirut, and Cape Dorset:; and
2. Kivalliq North – Baker Lake, Chesterfield Inlet, Coral Harbour, and Repulse Bay.

 

There are still six (6) Alternate RVP positions to be filled in:

1. Nunavut Capital Region – Iqaluit,
2. Baffin South – Ottawa, Sanikiluaq, Kimmirut, and Cape Dorset:
3. Baffin Center – Clyde River, Qikiqtarjuaq, Pond Inlet, Pangnirtung; 
4. Kivalliq South – Winnipeg, Churchill, Arviat, Whale Cove, and Rankin Inlet;
5. Kivalliq North – Baker Lake, Chesterfield Inlet, Coral Harbour, and Repulse Bay; and
6. Kitikmeot – Cambridge Bay, Gjoa Haven, Kugaaruk, Taloyoak, Kugluktuk.

 

NEU By-Law 12 Section 4 also states that candidates shall have demonstrated at least one year of active Union service.  RVPs sit on the NEU Executive and participate in Executive meetings, and other meetings throughout the year, including the NEU Triennial Convention which may involve one or more trips.  If you would like additional information please contact NEU.
