We are thrilled to inform members that the 2025 PSAC North Regional Indigenous Peoples’ Gathering will be held from Thursday, March 20 through Saturday, March 22 in the Multipurpose Room at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre in Whitehorse, Yukon.
This fully-funded event is open to all PSAC members in good standing in the North Region who self-identify as Indigenous (member of a First Nation, a Métis, or an Inuit community).
Gathering Objectives
PSAC North Indigenous members will gather to learn, share, and strengthen the PSAC Indigenous program under the theme Feeding The Fire.
The objectives of the 2025 PSAC North Indigenous Peoples’ Gathering are:
- Build connections and celebrate diversity amongst Indigenous members of the North
- Identify challenges and barriers to participation in our union and our workplaces
- Update on Truth and Reconciliation in the PSAC
- Discuss meaningful activities for towards Truth and Reconciliation that can be done in the North
- Develop strategies to advance Indigenous issues in the North
Participants will take part in sharing circle discussions on Indigenous issues in the community and within our union. This will engage participants on what barriers they continue to face and what successful strategies they are using to mobilize Indigenous members in the Union.
