The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW) workers who normally perform aircraft refueling operations at the Montréal-Trudeau and Mirabel airports are on strike. These highly skilled workers who do dangerous, demanding and important work have been on strike since December 31, 2019 at 11:00 am (EST). The Executive and Staff of the Nunavut Employees Union (NEU) as well as the Executive and Staff of other Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) components will not be using the Montréal-Trudeau airport for travel or the Mirabel airport for cargo shipments. The NEU asks our Members, where possible, to avoid using the two Montreal airports until our Union Brothers and Sisters of IAM Local Lodge 2301 are offered – and accept – a fair deal from their employer.
