Nunavat Employee's Union Local N005 Collective Barganing Proposal Meeting Thursday, June 18, 2009 NEU Boardroom 7 to 9 pm. At this meeting we will go over the propasals submitted by the Local N005 membership for the next round of Contract negoiations with the GN. Not In Iqaluit? Just call in to the Boardroom. NEU 4th Triennial Convention Doug Workman was acclaimed as NEU President during the convention which took place Oct. 14 to Oct. 16. He will serve his 4th term as President and has been the only President in the short 10 year history of the NEU. He will work hard with the new Executive to guide the NEU through the next 3 years. Other table officer positions up for election were First Vice-President, Second Vice-President, Second Vice-President Alternate, Secretary-Treasurer, and Secretary-Treasurer Alternate. The following candidates were elected to these positions for the next three years: First Vice-President Wade Morrison was elected to the position of 1st Vice-President. He was previously the Regional Vice-President for the Kitikmeot region Second Vice-President Joseph Aggark was elected to the position of 2nd Vice-President. He was previously the Regional Vice-President for the Kivallaq region. Second Vice-President Alternate Wes Smith was elected to the position of 2nd Vice-President Alternate. He is on the Executive of Local 005. Secretary-Treasurer Jackie Otuk was acclaimed as Secretary Treasurer, and returns to the Executive for another 3 years. Secretary-Treasurer Alternate Bill Fennell has been elected as Secretary Treasurer Alternate. He is the President of Local 005. The Regional Vice-President elections took place prior to the convention and the results were announced during the Convention. The RVP's for the Kivallaq and Kitikmeot were acclaimed prior to the Convention as one nomination was received for each region. Regional Vice-President for Baffin South John Vander Velde was elected to the position of RVP for Baffin South, and returns to the Executive for another 3 years. Regional Vice-President for Baffin North Elijah Kaernerk was elected to the position of Baffin North RVP. He was previously the RVP Alternate for Baffin North. Regional Vice-President for the Kivallaq Lori Morina was acclaimed to the position of RVP for the Kivallaq region. She was previously the RVP Alternate for the Kivallaq region. Regional Vice-President for the Kitikmeot Corey Dimitruk was acclaimed to the position of RVP for the Kivallaq region. He was previously President of Local 002.
